Iran's surprising decision to move warships off the Atlantic coast poses a potential catastrophic threat to America from a nuclear or electromagnetic pulse attack, according to an expert who foresaw Iran's move.
Peter Pry, an expert on EMP attacks, said the ships are likely a dry run for a future attack, a maneuver meant to lull Washington into complacency while also embarrassing President Obama and his effort to convince Tehran to give up production of a nuclear bomb in return for a lifting of some economic sanctions.
Yes, patrols by the Iranian Navy off our coasts could pose threat of a surprise EMP attack, said Pry, who with others such as former CIA Director R. James Woolsey, has convinced several state legislatures to take moves to harden their electric and energy grids from EMP attack because Washington won't.

Well, I don’t think Hillary gives a crap...
>>If they are going to hit us, they better do it within the next couple years before we get someone in office that actually give a crap about this country!
If they decide to detonate an EMP bomb off NYC, Obama or any other RepubliCrat will care because that will affect the bankers and Wall St. If they detonate it off Charleston or Jacksonville, they’ll just call that an acceptable loss.
I would imagine that for a real attack Iran would use a submarine
People should read “One Second After” by William R. Forstchen. We are not prepared for an EMP.
what an assclown.
his deal with Iran needs to be made public.
but our side is scared to demand its release.
Nah...their boats have screen doors for hatches;-)
Either that or they are in cahoots with him.
The damn UN. That worked well. How many violations?? 15??
Either place would have him declaring martial law though.
We’d never be rid of that w/o serious divine intervention.
That book will keep a man up at night long after he’s finished reading it.

I read that. It could have been a very good story, but the author was obsessed with having his characters grow maudlin and cry at the drop of a hat. Even at old show tunes. Feh!
I lived in the middle east for five years and one thing I learned about them: they talk BIG and they talk A LOT. But, mostly they are GIANT bags of wind.
One thing they do well: they GLARE really well, very threatening and menacing...but it's all empty bravado.
>>Either place would have him declaring martial law though.
Yep. The key phrase would be “In the affected areas....” which would probably cover all the red states of the southeast. Of course, if he let Iran detonate an EMP device off our coast, he’d need to do that before we got organized and went to Washington to give him a Mussolini retirement.
An attack would most likely come from a container ship or a “research” vessel.
The only thing that might embarrass Obama is if MO bitch slapped him in public, even then....I am not sure it would work. He’d probably just take a selfie with some blonde.

Its not as bad as the doomsday scenarios paint it. The Forstchen story requires a huge bomb to detonate in low-Earth orbit. Iran will not be able to pull that off.
Thankfully the science does not necessarily support Gingrich’s worst case scenarios on an EMP attack: http://fabiusmaximus.com/2011/12/14/32077/ and that site, by the way, is NOT a partisan left wing site but as close as one can get to a political site that takes an independent position.
