Personally, I think there’s a chance it might be a delta-smelt-borne virus.
You could wipe this pest out once and for all by simply diverting all that water back to the Central Valley farmers.
Now I’m not virologist or epidemiologist, but I have a gut feeling on this. Delta-smelt-borne. How can they NOT go with my gut feeling and wipe that stupid fish out? It’s for the children!
I can only conclude that they hate children. Probably grandmas and minorities too. And minority grandmas!
