They taste like chicken, ummm...so I hear.

If you read up on them you find out that just about every carnivorous animal that run in the same neighborhood think they are delicious. Those too small to eat the bird like the eggs.

Actually, they taste like hammered crap - at least in the fall, when the hunting season is/was.

The Shoshone told us at a sage grouse meeting about 10 years ago in Nevada that “the white man is stupid - he eats the sage grouse in the fall, when it tastes horrible. Spring is the time to eat sage grouse.”

The USFWS reps nearly lost their heads upon hearing this.
