A research team from China's University of Science and Technology detected tremors in the sea near the Malaysia Vietnam border on March 8 hours after MH370 disappeared from the radar screen.
In a report published on its website, the Wen Lianxing Research Team said it suspected the tremor to relate to the missing MAS plane because the area "is not within seismic zone."
"The incident happened at 2.55am on March 8, about one-and-a-half hours after MH370 lost contact at 1.30am.
"One of the two possible locations is (an area) about 116km to the northeast of MH370's last confirmed location," it said.
The research team said it detected the tremor with two seismographs located within the borders of Malaysia and identified the location with the signals.
"Many countries have deployed aircrafts, vessels and satellites to locate the missing flight to no avail.
"If this tremor was indeed caused by the plane crashing into the sea, the intensity of the seismicity indicated that the crashing process was disastrous," the report said.
The Wen Lianxing Research Team is part of the university's School of Earth and Space Sciences. Four researchers were involved in this project.
When contacted by The Star, Meteorological Department deputy director-general (strategy and technical) Dr Mohd Rosaidi Che Abas confirmed that seismographs at the department's stations in Kulim and Ipoh detected "shaking" at 2.56am on that day.
He said further investigations are underway.
This investigation is like watching an episode of The Twilight Zone.
Will be interesting to see. If it had crashed into land then I think it might be a real possibility. Into the ocean? I’m doubtful.
Or if that TV show LOST had shown the “back in the States” viewpoint of things!
I’ll tell ya one thing though. On those days when I tend to think Big Foot is real, I’m going to use this as an example of “big things that can get lost and never be seen”.
(Hmmm. Maybe that “Big Foot” on the wing made it inside and commandeered the plane!)
Do you know if this satellite image has been explained? Data reviewers claim it appears to be a plane underwater. Could it be a sub instead?
So china tech thinks planes crashing into water causes tremors? Was Danny Glover listed as a consultant in this study?
“......the tremor to relate to the missing MAS plane because the area “is not within seismic zone.”....
If not “within a seismic zone”, can anyone explain to me why the Chinese would have their detectors there in the first place?
I smell a rat there somewhere. (Tin hat? Maybe)

They ought to offer Jay Carney a job as their spokesclown....he is real good at throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks...
And he does it with a straight face...
Rare ability...
In all reality just what is the absolute most extreme damage a 777 could do, even if it was packed full of AMFO, converted into a massive cropduster but releasing biological chemicals or radioactive wast.
We all know Iran has a nuclear weapon but no delivery device, is it so far out in left field for them to steal a jumbo jet?
to me all I see is both pilot and copilot being Muslims, and something or someone gave them some form of marching orders.
if these two did indeed do a suicide death plunge it makes no sense because it would have been repeated by now by other Moslem pilots.
What would it take to change the appearance, paint it in a different airline color? Can it actually approach Israel? Could it follow a similar aircraft by running silent? say one that is also controlled by Iran and then it suddenly makes a beeline for Israel? Still doesn’t seem viable.
My gut feeling is that its a hijacking, they did something wrong and it has crashed and is underwater or has crashed in a hastily erected airstrip. people should keep an ear to the ground of any recent orders of the same fuel the 777 needs. Or look for replacement tires. I think it has landed like on an old military airfield, maybe an abandoned one that has been recently cleared?
My guess would be a anti submarine sensor network. The USA used to have one, don’t know if we still do.
yeah those satellite images from China proved to be wrong too.
Underwater listening device like the ones we use for submarine detection?
Need a Carney image to be a complete thread.
I assume this refers to an "at sea" border because there is no land border between the countries.
Sounds like the seismic activity was an oil well was completed and perforated.
I was just going to post that LOL
Yeh thats really a stretch. More likely that plane is sitting somewhere in a rogue country and the powers that be know exactly where but are stalling for time to figure out what to do about it.
