I agree with their foundational message, that God is judging our nation because of our descent into depravity. I can certainly understand their frustration that our nation bows to the sins of abortion, adultery and homosexuality, to the exclusion of obedience to God. The simple formula is that God blesses obedience and punishes disobedience.
It’s the protesting at military funerals that has been wrongheaded and downright counterproductive. They should’ve confined their protests to homosexuals’ funerals. With AIDS and all the cancers they contract because of their deathstyle, there shouldn’t be any shortage of them.
So they are a Godly group of folks who only stepped over the line when they picketed military funerals, is that it?
Hell no. They should have done no such thing. Who the hell is it of your business to protest anybody’s funeral. It is sick and you are sick to suggest such a repulsive idea.
Protesting at any funeral is wrong headed.
Phelps clan was on tape once looking to litigate anyone who reacted to their antagonism.
They were hoping to anger someone enough that they got assaulted or received property damage.
They were even giggling about it.

Sorry, their entire premise was antagonism, not trying to turn people back to God.
