If Drudge figures he’ll owe, say, ten million in federal income taxes for 2014 (it’s probably a lot more), he is required to send in a quarter of that now.

Drudge is really paying an awful lot of money to prove a point. For him to owe $10 million in 2014 income taxes, he'd have to have income of around $25 million. The Obama tax for not having Obama-approved coverage is $95 or 1% of your income, whichever is greater. 1% of $25 million is $250,000. Drudge could certainly get compliant coverage for a tenth of that, which would be about $2000/month. He certainly is putting his money where his mouth is.
