So when is CNN moving out of Atlanta and dumping Ted Turner? I mean, we all know what bigots liberals are and how much they hate the south. Liberals are haters.

I live ‘in’ The South. I am not ‘from the South’, having moved this way in 2000. I do not have a ‘Southern accent’.
However, I have been schooled in New England throughout my formative years. In high school, I placed #123 out of a total of 610 graduating seniors that year, with majors in Accounting and the Russian Language, and ‘a letter’ in Cross-Country.
So, dear CNN skirt, your hypothesis is incorrect!
I think she implied that most people will see those with a southern accent as less intelligent.
From that, in order to be more effective, the message should have been carried by someone whom most people will see as more intelligent.
She was addressing the perception of others.
Mrs WBill always says that "Slow doesn't mean stupid.". This pseudointellectual bimbo would do well to listen to my intelligent, and beautiful, wife. :-)
And, FWIW, I love it in the south, and wouldn't change a single thing about it.

A few years back, husband and I sat with a CA couple at dinner on cruise (ship assigned seats). They were just back from visiting Indonesia and we discussed jihad (rampant in Indonesia at that time) and politics in general.
Later, met the woman in the hall and she said she just wanted to tell me how impressed her husband was with my world knowledge. I just grinned and said "Because I'm from Alabama".
What can we say or do--it just IS.
Actually, maybe we could use it somehow as a secret weapon, because their opinion is NOT going to change.
