My first thought, too..

What private lands will be confiscated to save it?

(and p.s... see my tagline)

“OMG - STEAL EVERYONE’S LAND WHERE THESE BIRDS MAY BE LIVING AND/OR FLYING THROUGH!!!!!!! “

This seizure of land by the feds and states has been going on for several decades when one of their so called protected icons might use some private property.

Over a decade ago, a friend, at that time a political moderate owned a piece of property in an urban area. He had built an approved office building and parking lot and rented out offices.

The parking lot was built on one side by a seasonal creek, which only ran and flowed during our winter and early spring rains. It never over flowed except the few times when we basically had flooding in that area.

My friend put in the rolled grass/hay barriers to keep the few inches of overflow from coming into part of his parking lot.

He was told by our Fish and Game Nazis and the enviral Nazis that the red legged frogs might need that water on his parking lot to get to a sometimes seasonal bog on the far side of his parking lot. He was fined and told to remove the rolled grass/hay barriers.

He did and hired a retired F&G biologist to survey the area around his parking lot, the seasonal dry creek, and the small sometime seasonal bog on the other side of his parking lot. After several months and a few thousand $’s the retired biologists submitted a report noting that he and his worker never found any red legged frogs on my friends property and the seasonal creek area. Nor did they find remains of any dead red legged frogs.

So he took the findings to F&G to get them to reverse their finding and to get back the cost of his fines.

Their response was that in spite of zero proof that red legged frogs had ever been on the seasonal creek or on his property. The area looked like an area the red legged frogs might like to live in.

A green Nazi enviral judge throw out his law suit against F&G because of the statement by F&G that the red legged frog might to live in that area.

My friend sold his property by the seasonal dry creek and started a long progression to being a conservative.
