The arming of Federal agencies with machine guns, armored vehicles, bullet proof vests, explosives, and even tanks, along with billions of rounds of ammunition, continues apace.

Collectively, over 25,000 individuals now work as armed agents of federal agencies not usually associated with law enforcement. These are not just guards. These agents go out on raids to enforce the orders of federal bureaucracies. No bureaucracy should have a private army to enforce its orders against the American people.

Outside of law enforcement, federal agencies now employ over 25,000 people as armed agents. They are more than guards. They’ve become like private armies that can push around private citizens. Over 70 non-military federal agencies now have their own armed agents.

One expects armed agents with the FBI, the U.S. Marshal Service and the Border Patrol.

But an armed EPA, Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, even the Social Security Administration and the National Institutes of Health?

The Department of Education and the Department of Housing and Urban Development have their own armed agents. As do the Food and Drug Administration. And Veterans Affairs, the Government Printing Office, the National Zoo, and the Library of Congress

The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 forbids the Federal government from using Armed Forces against the American citizenry. This heavy militarization of these federal agencies appears to be an evasion that law. (NOTE: Valerie is looking this up to find loopholes as we type.

.....the standoff between the government and the Nevada ranching family got rough as the govt flexed its federally financed muscle. Members of the Bundy family were physically assaulted by armed federal officers, numerous cows were shot dead, and protesters faced threats of federal gunfire for merely expressing their outrage. But the national perception is that a resounding victory against a tyrannical federally financed agency took place on the Bundy ranch.

Nevada Dimocrat Sen. Harry Reid had the audacity to vilify as "domestic terrorists"......the peaceful pistol packers, ranchers, cattlemen, patriots, flag bearers, cowboys, cowgirls, Oathkeepers, defenders of the republic, and other Bundy supporters.

Keep in mind, the Reid family has enormous financial interests in the area. Harry seems to have access to billions of federal dollars that he spends as he pleases....with no accountability.

==========================================

Harry Reid is the poster boy for government tyranny, and massive corruption. He has used his privileged Senatorial position, govt resources and elective office to enrich himself, his family, and his cronies.

The confrontation with the Bundy family has brought to light the execrable, blatant corruption of Sen. Harry Reid and members of his family. Harry's son, Rory, has a vested interest in the Bundy land----claiming the need for an offset refuge for the "endangered" desert tortoise------but Rory's financial interests in a solar energy project just 35 miles away from the Bundy Ranch hide the Reid's true motives.

TALKING POINTS---Politico: Reid's Favors to Family Dragging Him Down

NewsMax ^ | April 8, 2014 | By Dew MacKenzie / FR Posted on Tuesday, April 08, 2014 by Jim Robinson

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has found himself slowly sinking into the political quicksand as he faces close public scrutiny over potentially enriching family members through his powerful position as a Democratic leader. The Nevada senator has recently become embroiled in the embarrassing controversy surrounding the $31,268 that his campaign paid to his granddaughter Ryan Elisabeth Reid for the purchase of gift items from her jewelry line, according to Politico.

But his weakness for pulling strings to help family members was first exposed by the Los Angeles Times a decade ago when a Nevada land bill proposed by Reid appeared to benefit his son-in-law Steve Barringer's consulting firm and his sons' legal firm.

The Howard Hughes Corp. paid $300,000 to the Washington firm Steve Barringer worked for to push a provision allowing the company to buy 1,000 acres of federal land for development in the then-burgeoning Las Vegas area, according to the LA Times. The bill also benefited a real-estate development headed by a senior partner in the Nevada law firm that then employed all four of Reid's sons — Rory, Leif, Josh, and Key — by moving the right-of-way for a federal power transmission line off his property and onto what had been protected federal wilderness.

In its report, the LA Times said, "So pervasive are the ties among Reid, members of his family, and Nevada's leading industries and institutions that it's difficult to find a significant field in which such a relationship does not exist." Reid's reputation for promoting his family's power, status, and wealth was further enhanced when it was revealed that he had lobbied the mayor/ of Henderson and a councilwoman to support his son Josh Reid's application to become the city's attorney.
