We had a mayor here in my town who had held the job for twenty years. He had gotten to the point where if someone dared question or criticize him his response was, "I don't need your vote." Apparently he did. Last November he lost by a wide margin.

I guess the lesson learned from this is no matter how well liked the politician is, the first time you hear that should have been the absolutely last time that person would ever hold an elected office...

Even if it is assumed, or perceived by the constituency, the next time those polls open, that person needs to learn a new word...It’s called “unemployment”...

But alas, most voters (not all) have the political attention span of a gnat...
