He says that CNN's gone in the toilet and MSNBC's got a criminal on there, Al Sharpton, and he's turned to Fox. This is at the 92nd Street Y. Jeff Greenfield speaking with Joe Klein, this is Sunday night, New York City.
KLEIN: I turn on CNN at six o'clock at night because that's something I kind of do in preparation for the 6:30 network news to see what Wolf is being really hyperbolic about, and he's talking about the plane! It is such an embarrassment to our profession that CNN has gone in the toilet the way it has.

KLEIN: I miss being able to turn on a straight newscast. And it turns out the only place you can go to get one at six o'clock at night is Fox.

RUSH: Holy smokes, folks, what's happening out there? What's happening out there? Common sense at the 92nd Street Y. Did you hear Greenfield, he's telling the audience (paraphrasing), "Hey, don't mumble, folks, don't snicker, Joe Klein's telling you the truth. The best straight newscast on TV is on Fox at six o'clock every night, Special Report with Bret Baier." And Fox does straight news much of the rest of the day, particularly in the daytime as well. Shocking stuff, is it not?

RUSH: I want to go back to the audio sound bites. I want to play audio sound bite number eight again for you. This is Joe Klein at the 92nd Street Y on Sunday night in Manhattan with Jeff Greenfield. You know, I have appeared at the 92nd Street Y with Jeff Greenfield back in the Rush Limbaugh the Television Show days. I'm telling you, the 92nd Street Y is the belly of the belly of the beast of New York liberalism.
I remember Greenfield asked me about some quotes that he had found that I had said. One of them was on abortion. He said, "Do you really mean this?" I said, "Yeah," and I repeated it, and the audience... I mean, it was like all the oxygen got sucked out of the room. I said, "Abortion is genocide, and I'm amazed that some people who have experienced genocide themselves don't see what abortion is."
You could hear the air get sucked out of that room. I'm sure it was one of Greenfield's most successful evenings at the 92nd Street Y. I sped up there after the TV show. It was the end of a long, busy broadcast day. But I'm just telling you, it is the belly of the belly of the belly of the belly of the beast of New York liberalism.
Joe Klein is in there, and I want you to listen. I want to play this sound bite again, because I want you to listen to the audience gasp when he tells them that the only place you can go to get straight news is Fox News at six p.m. You can hear this audience audibly gasp in shock and disbelief.

RUSH: You know, it really does matter who says things. If I had said that, there'd have been total outrage in that room. Joe Klein says it, and there's laughter and applause. I said it to Sharpton one night. You know, back in the old days. You remember when Ollie North had a show on whatever it was, CNBC, MSNBC, whatever it was.
It was over there in Secaucus or Fort Lee. I went over, again, after my TV show one night and I appeared with him. Maybe it was Al Joker that was hosting one night. I don't know. But Sharpton was there, and I said to him, "I don't understand why you have any credibility at all with anybody."
"What are you talking about!"
"Tawana Brawley. Why do you have any credibility?" The whole place blew up again. But here Joe Klein says it? "Right on. Right on." But that audience gasped when he talked about Fox being the only place to go to get straight news. I'm telling you, it's like going to Zabar's and saying that.

When I was still in the news business I remember arguing regularly about opinion masquerading as news. this Ed was your typical lib and was highly offended that someone would dare accuse/think that were possible. He swore he’d quit before he ever allowed such a thing in his newsroom and all the typical chest thumping you’d expect.
And then one day we got a memo from AP stating directly that opinion was acceptable in news coverage. An actual faxed memo.
And he got real quiet as I laughed in his face the rest of the day...but of course didn’t quit.

Big deal. Then these guys will go on the major networks and never say a word against Sharpton. They have a small audience of NYers in that room who have a long history with Sharpton. It’s like blacks who criticize themselves in private and then refuse to do so with a white audience.

The 92nd Street "Y" is on paper a YMHA-YWHA. So it's, again on paper, a Jewish organization, although its events such as this are open to all. So one would imagine that the majority of the audience there is probably Jewish. Thus the unpleasant familiarity with Sharpton's anti-Semitic history, and their agreement with Joe Klein's anti-Sharpton remarks.
But this type of crowd will - with perhaps a few exceptions - remain loyal to leftist media outlets like the New York Slimes and will continue to be brainwashed by them, regardless of what they may have heard from Klein and Greenfield.

I think that GOPJ might be referring to a growing awareness among American Jews, esp. Liberal ones (usually from Reform and some Conservative synagogues/movements, not from the leftists of the Reconstructionist Movement and the far-left Rabbi David Saperstein organization of Reform Synagogues or whatever it is called), that the Obama regime is not only anti-Israel (which could be called a “political” stance), but also covertly anti-semitic (which is anti-Jewish, a religious bigotry).

I’ve been kicking the asses and heads (often the same thing) or my Jewish brethern since I started out as a professional journalist in 1970. A few editors listened as did some readers, but most put their heads in the sand (and some up their ass), to deny the reality of what I was reporting, along with many other Jewish journalists (from Vietnam to Israel, Gaza to Egypt, Soviet Union to Iran).
Most didn’t want to know about marxist/PLO collusion in the US and overseas (I broke some of the major stories on the PLO and the Sandinistas and Cuba, as well as Jesse Jackson’s Communist Party/Soviet asset Jack O’Dell (advisor) ties to KGB fronts and PLO operations). Many didn’t want to hear about Soviet anti-semitism and covert military buildup projects revealed by Jewish emigres from the Soviet Union.
But now, with Kerry’s treatement of Israel, Obama’s blatant distain for Israel (despite his crocodile tear speechs), Susan Rice’s sheer stupidity at the UN, (remember Madelaine Halfbright’s foreign policy failures under Bill Clinton?), Hillary asskissing of liberal/wealthy Jews,esp. in New York, and Obama’s silence on the attacks by Hamas-related CAIR on anyone who legitimately criticizes Islamic extremists, while he genuflexes in Cairo, Saudi Arabia, and at the UN before the greatest assortment of tyrants, genocidal killers, child molesters/pedophiles, women killers and mutilators, drug smugglers, terrorist assisters and just plain brutal Moslem and Communist leaders in the world.
I think that Kaslin is saying that this is one part of the “quiet tsunami” that is far out to sea, but is on the move. Call it the “Jewish Awakening” if you will, but it is being joined by all kinds of American people, of all religions, ethnic backgrounds, economic status, educational levels, racial backgrounds, and by those who genuinely love America, warts and all.
A “rising tide gathers all boats”, but a Tsumani of Americans united by patriotism and a growing awareness of just what a Marxist threat Obama poses to our very existence, gathers all peoples, even some of the stupid ones, of which we have an abundance.
Rising taxes, rising gasoline prices, perpetual unemployment and underemployment among all groups, more welfare addiction programs keeping the lower economic groups hooked on the government needle, limited job opportunities due to literally unchecked immigration, billions wasted on school programs that fail to teach the basics of an education, unchecked gangs mowing down children in the streets of DC, Chicago, Detroit, etc., and the impending release of tens of thousands of drug offenders and convicted criminals back into society - plus much more - has, collectively kicked America in the balls and the roar of pain and the awareness of how Obama and his marxist minions and Good German bureaucracy are destroying our country, has finally hit home.
As the Mexican gas station owner said to Linda Hamilton in the movie “The Terminator”, “there is a bad storm gathering on the horizon and it’s coming this way”.
I feel that this is what GOPJ means about the coming “tsunami”. It will hit shore on Nov. 4, 2014.
