Police in northern Kentucky have released dash-cam footage from the scene where a deputy shot a 19-year-old woman to death as she left an outdoor party in her car over the weekend.
The footage, shot from inside Boone County Sheriff Deputy Tyler Brockman's cruiser, does not show Brockman firing four bullets through Samantha Ramsey's windshield after she alleged rammed him on a road outside Hebron early Saturday.
It only shows Brockman approaching Ramsey's car and her appearing to drive away.
Moments later, a plume of smoke enters the frame and bystanders can be seen weeping in horror.
Boone County authorities were investigating the shooting.
The sheriff's department said it was in self-defense after Ramsey, who had three others in the car, ignored Brockman's orders to stop and slammed into him.
Brockman ended up on the hood of the car before opening fire. No one else was injured.
Sheriff's spokesman Tom Scheben told the Cincinnati Enquirer results of the investigation would be turned over to Commonwealth Attorney Linda Tally Smith, the Boone County's top prosecutor.

You're exactly right, but the problem is that there's a cop under every rock these days.
I'm wondering what the Founders would think of the "swarms of officers" EVERYWHERE they turned.
I'm not sure how to avoid them, because you DON'T want to come into contact with them.

I believe that the witnesses are saying that he approached the car, realized that she was trying to drive away, then jumped on the hood of her car in a "prevent defense".
She continued, then he shot her. Her death reaction was to hammer the gas pedal.

Spit on the sidewalk in front of the DA's house or the local judge's house, and you'll find out EXACTLY how many resources they've got.

The video isn’t conclusive, but she had already made the turn and he was well out of range of being run over unless he did as you described.
Good point. The local prosecutor will "forget" to ask that question, unfortunately.
If it was you or me as CCW holders, that question would be Front and Center.

Watch the video. From the time she makes the turn to the time he’s yelling “shots fired” is around 2 seconds. He had to have drawn his pistol while running to catch up to her car and fired almost immediately.
No warning.
How this isn’t murder is explained by the fact that he’s carrying a badge and nothing else...
I've seen this happen a dozen times on video over the past few years, from as many regions of the country, and it turns my stomach every time.
Seems like the frequency of such events has been increasing at an alarming rate.

Whether the Deputy was justified or not, how can he live with himself?
In this day and age of technology, they can always catch the perp later.
Cops need to wear cameras instead of guns and take snap shots like everyone else instead of sniping with guns. They are to report to people, not take law in own hands vigilante style.

It used to be that you’d only have to worry about the occasional “bad apple”. Now it seems like most all of them are rotten to the core.
