It says it right in the first and second paragraphs that the new PM was supported by the Islamists and the MB. Never mind the secularists protesting the whole affair.
Remember that even now, the Muslim Brotherhood is not hardline in the view of the AP, although they have to concede Islamist these days; its like the difference between the MB and the Salafists in Egypt. (The
AFP headline is even more blatant.)
So then the largely secular bloc didn't have a candidate?
And it was the hardline Islamists against the MB?
