When Germany annexed Czechoslovakia in 1938, neither side was particularly wonderful, but we would have been better off if that annexation had never happened. The parallel with Munich is that Ukraine's arms factories are located in its eastern region, in the same way that the territory ceded to Germany included Czechoslovakia's weapons plants.

They ousted their thug regime, and what they get is a regime that has a gov’t that has a decent chunk of gov’t seats with Svoboda scum and Right Sector fascists roaming the country - with Kiev apparently having its thumb stuck up... and doing nothing to rein either of them in.
