Just gobbling up more of the West...
For about 15 dollars an acre in projected tourist revenue (does that ever happen??).

It's my understanding just like any other executive order, a “national monuments” declaration can be rescinded by any future President. However, it would appear that none of the recent Republican Presidents (Reagan Included) have had the guts to PO the enviro crowd by doing so....

No! No more Federally owned land takeovers from the state. It is time to take back the states’ land.

They aren't “national monuments” they are just land grabs. In El-Presidnte's view only the ruling class should be allowed property, the rest of us should be serfs and pay tribute to our “lords” for the privilege of living someplace.

for the monument, zer0 will have his image carved into Mt Rushmore, just to the right of Lincoln.
one of these 2 photos will be used as a template for the statue.

Does this mean the guys at White Sands Missile Range won’t be able to test cruise missiles against the face of the mountains anymore? Back in the 70s, I went down there to visit a friend who was married to a WAC, and she pointed out this huge target that was painted on the face of the mountains behind the base. She said it was quite a trip to watch those things come flying out of the desert and slam into the mountain.

Seriously, New Mexico should stand up and say no to this land snatch. There is no reason other than some stupid socialist fantasy for doing this, and it deprives the people of New Mexico a big chunk of their land.
Conservative candidates need to be crystal clear about this as well.

I absolutely love the scenic grandeur of the Great Southwestern Desert, from Joshua Tree to Dead Horse Point. I have been through the Grand Escalante Staircase, designated as protected by Clinton. It is vast and beautiful, inaccessible to all but the most hardy, except for scenic highways. IOW, there was no reason to shut down huge reserves of valuable anthracite coal, because it all could have been mined and no one would ever have seen the difference.
Point being, even for preservation purposes, this monument mania has reached diminishing returns. I have been to this area of New Mexico too, and it is fine indeed, but not unlike another million square miles of New Mexico which apparently does not need "protecting."
Let the next president call "enough."
