All the signs (government establishment of swat teams in departments like Agriculture and Post Office and huge weapons and ammo buys)indicate that the government feels there is a need to protect itself against citizens or an unnamed threat from outside.

What is the threat? Can’t Congress find out if it is legitimate?

The threat is a population that is capable of saying No! to the government… and having both the means and will to enforce that declaration.

You may be right. But is there a Congress committee that can look into this and get to their policy decision on the threat that citizens pose?
