Hmmmmmm. The equivalent of lying on your thesis, cheating on our finals, and plagiarism......
Seems to me like that’s plenty of reason nullify any degrees bestowed upon them.
We all know it’s not gonna happen, but it’s okay - they did it for a “good cause”. Even if the facts didn’t support their “the science is settled” arguments.
In a perfect world, these people would be lined up in front of a wall and offered one last cigarette (or a doobie as they’d likely prefer).

Excellent points! I know of a few academicians who are now “consultants” due to publishing false data or plagiarism.
