It's hard to square

"no threat to public safety"

with

agents were wearing protective equipment for their safety

and

Chamberlain could be armed and dangerous

and

Chamberlain owns a Nissan that reportedly could be rigged with explosives.

I think that the threat is exaggerated and misleading, because that's what both the FBI and the press do. (What does "could be rigged with explosives" mean exactly? Any car "could" be rigged with explosives.)

and how would the FBI know/worry about an explosive rigged car? They aren’t telling everything found at his apt.
