The Bergdahl swap: a full-blown Obama scandal in less than 48 hours
Human Events ^ | June 3, 2014 | John Hayward

As one of the characters in “Anchorman” observed of its bloody brawl between news teams: Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast.

Two days after President Obama broke the law to arrange an insanely reckless swap of five incredibly dangerous Taliban terrorists for captive American Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, virtually every aspect of the deal has blown up in Obama’s face, and the whole thing has soured into another five-star scandal for an Administration riddled with them. Maybe it’s the accumulated weight of Obama fatigue, or the sheer stupidity and arrogance the President displayed in this particular abuse of power, but even people who stood by him through Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and the IRS scandal are asking: What the hell was he thinking? What did the White House think was going to happen here?

Jack Bauer should have been sent to ‘rescue’ him. He’d be talking (or squealing like a pig).

Read wiki.

It says he went from fencing and martial arts to ballet.

Homeschooled by his mother. Got his GED in his 20's.

very good summation on where this thing is.

Agreed.

I'd send this to a couple of lib relatives, but why bother?

For those of you who, as I have, tried to reason with a bi-polar person, have you noticed the similarity in presenting FACTS such as these to a liberal? It's like you have stepped through the mirror into Looking Glass Land.

“Obama’s Staff has correctly concluded that Boehner will NEVER bring Articles of Impeachment against Obama, for reasons known only to the weak, sobbing-coward Boehner.”

Boehner bring Articles of Impeachment would be the most foolish thing he could do. If you disagree with that, then name the 66 Senators who would vote to convict the first black president. (I’ll make it easy, just name 21 Democrat Senators who would vote to convict.)

The aide said military officials in Afghanistan spent recent months pushing for a stronger deal than was ultimately struck, but were “superseded” by the White House and State Department. The aide would not comment on what the parameters of a “stronger” deal may have looked like, beyond saying they would have involved the Pakistani government.

I wonder if the stronger deal included the release of the doctor who helped take down Bin Laden?

How’d you like to be the guy who told Obama about a great idea for getting the VA scandal and Shinseki’s resignation off the front pages.

Obama apparently needed another scandal, quick, in order to distract from the VA scandal.

What did the White House think was going to happen here?

Bergdahl would be welcomed home as a war hero, Obama could take all the credit. Now Bergdahl is seen as a traitorous deserter and Obozo can't dissociate himself from him.............

Indeed that's true. But the House of Representatives for us, the citizenry, would have properly done its job. Even if it fails, it's worth it.

It’s all part of our national intent of committing suicide — electing Bambi, inviting our enemy, Islam, to live among us, open borders, outsourcing jobs, shedding our Christian heritage and allowing our national debt to rise, unchecked.

Indeed. The inevitable failed Senate vote would “prove” that all his actions were legal and supported by the people and their representatives.

I will admit I had Liberal leanings in college. They were more Libertarian, but liberal and anti-government. I didn't like the fact that Nixon covered up Watergate, and I was angry over the 18 minute gap.

I don't understand why liberals today - particularily the youth - are so supportive of Government.

Obama can never think two moves ahead on any action he takes. He’s such an idiot.

I think this actually feeds into the VA scandle and even Bengazi.
