The White House has apologized to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for failing to alert her in advance of a decision to release Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay.

Feinstein told reporters that she received a call from Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken on Monday evening apologizing for what the administration is calling an “oversight.”

“I had a call from the White House last night, from Tony Blinken, apologizing for it,” she said.

“He apologized and said it was an oversight,” she added.

Knowingly violated the law. You don’t get to say “Sorry” for that.
Especially now after all we have heard a discovered about this POCrap coward who walked off during war.

Obama told McConnell, Cornyn, McCain and Boehner in advance and also told them there was nothing they could do about it.

Yeah ... right on the heals of the other ‘oversight’ revealing the identity of the CIA station-chief in Kabul, Afghanistan.
This administration is totally incompetent starting at the top.

They didn’t know that there was a law requiring that Congress be informed until they heard about it in the news.

This is the devil apologizing to one of his underlings, in a move to make the other underlings not feel so bad about being lesser underlings!

This has NOTHING to do with the law, the fact that Obama broke the law (one which HE signed into law), or that we still traded five foreign terrorists so that we could get back one American terrorist!

I'll bet the person that knows the most is the CIA dude who got outed. I think he's a dead man walking.

Good point. Wonder what's become of him?

“He apologized and said it was an oversight,” she added.

So, what would you have said if the Bush administration had called you and offered that excuse?

[....sound of crickets....]

I'm sure he's protected aka "kept prisoner" by his own government.

I'm betting that he will commit suicide...except it won't be suicide.

Damn Obama........

Everyone knew we were working/negotiating with the Taliban...that was in the media reports....but a trade and the release of 5 monsters was not part of that news at any point in time until it was over.

Actually, the Taliban said upfront (years ago) they wanted those 5 to be released.

It was considered to be too high a price, until now. I'll leave it to you to speculate what changed.

Heart felt I’m suuuurrreee.
Loyalty is only a dog food bowl away. Or rice bowl. Watch “The Sand Pebbles” . Good script and story well acted.
And history repeats.

And a little insider trading on the next contract.
I’m shocked! But thats Casablanca.
Another good movie.
