I agree with you about open primaries. Should not be allowed.

However, the only gripe I have with the runoff rules is that bit about anyone who didn’t vote on June 3 can now vote on June 24. IMO, if you couldn’t be bothered to vote in the primary, then you shouldn’t be allowed to vote in the resulting runoff.

Right. Seems to me that a runoff should basically just allow the people who voted for a 3rd candidate to tip the election to one or the other of the top 2 candidates now that their preferred candidate has been eliminated from the race. What business is it of anybody else’s to try to be a tie-breaker, if they didn’t care enough to vote the first time around?
