Who Funds the Radical Left In America?
Western Journalism ^ | 2014 | Steve Baldwin, Exclusive to Western Center for Journalism

Very few Americans realize there exists a large network of far left philanthropists and foundations in America dedicated to destroying the American way of life, our Christian-based culture and our free enterprise system. They seek to remove America from its constitutional foundations and move it toward a European-style socialism. Much of this effort is coordinated by a little known group called the Tides Foundation and its related group, the Tides Center.

Over the course of its 33 year history, the Tides network has given hundreds of millions of dollars to anti-free enterprise groups, gun control groups, anti-private property groups, abortion rights groups, homosexual groups, groups engaged in voter fraud, anti-military groups, and organizations that seek to destroy America’s constitutional basis. All told, over 100 leftist organizations have received funding from one of the two Tides groups.

Obama did not create the 'radical left'. They created Obama.

IDK. All I hear/read from the "news" media is how the Koch brothers are funding the "radical" right and trying to destroy this nation....

There was a dust about about their foundation a year or so ago, but I think it died quickly.

Waiting for Eric Holder or NY to complete their investigation……………waiting……………..waiting

What everyone needs to understands is that all of these whack-a-doodle foundations came about as a result of the income tax. For the first 70 years after the income tax was passed if you were rich and you didn't want to pay any tax you got out of it by setting up a non-profit foundation and putting all of your assets in it. When you needed money you just borrowed it from the foundation and never paid it back. After the original principles died, the trustee's of these foundations tended to go rogue and there was nothing the heirs could do about it.

The Johnson administration got the IRS to issue a regulation requiring all non-profits to use fund accounting as their accounting methodology. Then the Regan administration got a statute passed making unpaid loans taxable as income. That pretty much ended the party for rich tax evaders, but it did nothing to curb the activities of the foundations.

Exactly! All people have to do is look at the family members who raised him.

They range from Communist, Marxist, Socialist, Islamic; his mother, father, step-father and grandparents. And, it continued in his college time, where he chose those of the same ilk with which to spend all his time.

Why are people confused about why Obama would hate America ..?? He was indoctrinated with hate for America.

Then, you’re watching and listening to the wrong media.

Harry Reid happens to be the champion of the hate-Koch Brothers.

One example.

The worlds’ financial elites fund the left.

Socialism, communism, globalism - all that they control - is their agenda.

You will never hear any pundit blame the Rockefeller Foundation for anything.

They will rarely if ever mention the Ford Foundation or Carnegie foundations.

These foundations fund their agendas to the tune of billions of dollars per year, which is just a portion of the investment income from their endowments.

These foundations have century-old ties and common sources of endowments with the elite universities.

You could call it the “American establishment”; it calls the shots for the leadership of both the political left and right in America, very quietly, behind the scenes.

“..He was indoctrinated with hate for America.”

:::::::::

Yes, and as you say, it is a wonder WHY people did not see this blatant reality from day one. His mindset and ideology were known well before he was elected the first time. Public knowledge...yet the fools put him in our WH. His removal of Churchill’s bust was the big first clue about what was to come from him and who he would surround himself with. It all happened, we knew it, and only half of America listened. And the damage continues...supported by the Congress who has the only real power to stop most it if they wanted to.

Very interesting assertion about the income tax angle - if true, it’s yet one more social pathology spawned by the income tax.

Four of its largest supporters are as follows: The Heinz Endowment. Led by John Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, this group has contributed at least $8.1 million to the Tides entities since 1994. This is the endowment created by the Heinz food empire which Teresa Heinz still has ownership interest in.

Even the best 'nonprofits' becomes liberal scams after a few years... It's time to stop ALL tax benefits for these types of organizations.

Are salaries from tax-exempts taxed the same as regular incomes?

For employees? Yes. Exactly the same. The only differences in the IRS employee tax regs for non-profits have to do with retirement plans and benefits fairness testing.

BTW it is more accurate to call them non-profits instead of tax exempts. No institution is completely tax exempt. They all are subject to UBIT (unrelated business income tax). They all have to pay social security taxes, unemployment taxes, and workman's comp taxes for their employees. And most of them have to pay certain kinds of property taxes. I worked for a state university back in the 70's that had to pay thousands every year in property tax for their typewriters. The revenue was earmarked for a local school district and the state wouldn't let them out of paying it, even though they never paid a dime in tax for their real property.

Yes, but the principals can still avoid taxes — by claiming very nice expenses from the non-profits for their activities.
