Four NATO troops have been killed in a suicide attack in Afghanistan’s Parwan province, the ISAF confirmed. The blast also killed two Afghan policemen and at least 10 civilians, local police said.

Some reports say the NATO soldiers killed in the attack were from the Czech Republic.

Earlier Ziaul Rahman Sayedkhili, a senior police officer in the eastern province of Parwan, said the blast had killed six NATO servicemen.

He said a joint ISAF-Afghan force was deployed to the village of Qalandar Khil to investigate a rocket attack on a military base, which happened two days ago, and was targeted by the bomber.

“There was a suicide bomber on a bicycle who detonated his explosives which killed 10 local civilians, two policemen and six ISAF soldiers,” Sayedkhili said.

Bagram District Police Chief Mohammad Masoom Farzaye said at least 11 children were killed in the attack.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing, which targeted a convoy of NATO forces in the city of Charikar, which located some 70 km north of Kabul, local media reported.

Still losing men. Petraeus needs to write his own book called how to replicate the Vietnam War for the 21st century through politics and the rules of engagement.

Rule #1 never shoot someone on a bike.

How about this, dear David, shoot anyone who comes within a 30 yard radius of an investigation.

Prayers for their families, friends and brothers.

On a side note, the rest of the report is about the presidential election and the loser is yelling fraud. Seems the people of Afghanistan have in fact copied American politics.

Why are politicians allowed to break the rules (or create their own as they go) but not the boots on the ground who are getting shot? Why Petraeus? You broke the rules of honor and yet we have men in prison for breaking YOUR rules.

Having a bad morning.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s charter is the defense of Western Europe against attack by the Soviet Union, which ceased to exist after 1991. So why are “NATO” troops in Afghanistan? More broadly, why are “NATO” troops anywhere now that the alliance has outlived its charter by 23 years? NATO is just another temporary government program searching for a mission to justify its existence...

Sorry to hear this but I have a question. Why are NATO troops even in Afghanistan?

Wouldn’t it be sweet if we could get someone in to cut our gov’t in half?

They should actually be called ISAF troops, no? Lead by NATO which Always A Marine stated should not exist.
