Tunisia isn't even in the Middle East.

They couldn’t even bring themselves to label Israel on the freaking map!

Their treatment of Israel is sad. I regard the Economist as intellectually far, far above ANY of our MSM rags, and that map is not up to their high standards.

It appears that the Muslim disease is a serious one indeed.

And Islam is an even greater mental disease than liberalism.

The Economist has had an anti-Semitic slant for many years Call it old- school jooo hatred ( or maybe envy). It predated the islamonazification of the UK.

The title of the map is the The Arab World.

Therefore, that would not include Israel and would not just include the Middle East.

The Economist was correct in their map legend and HotAir demonstrates that they cannot read a map.

The article is about the "Arab World" -- that is not the same thing as the "Mid East".

The "Mid East" (however it is defined) is a geographical construct, which includes Israel.

The "Arab World" is a construct based on ethnicity and national government -- Israel is not included, by definition. You will note that they rank the Palestinian Territories (democratic facade). They don't say that Israel isn't "democratic" -- they don't say anything about it, because it's not an Arab state.

Also note that there’s a footnote (1) with an arrow to “Palestinian territories”, and Israel doesn’t appear on this “map”.
