WMBF in Myrtle Beach, SC, reported Wednesday on the growing trend of businesses hiring only part-time workers, due to an inability to afford Obamacare. This situation leaves workers without healthcare and without a full-time income or other benefits.
Local staffing agencies say more small business are starting to hire more part time employees. Not because there is more full time work, but as WMBF reporter Mandy Noell found out, it's because they can't afford to have more full time employees.
Obamacare places requirements for health care benefits that many small businesses just cannot afford to pay. As a result, they are hiring more workers at 30 hours or less a week to avoid meeting the ACA minimum so they can remain in business.

Nobody could have predicted this!
The fools that voted him in thought Obama would make all the radical changes and stick it to big business. He did, but big business is no longer just putting up with it like a broken spirited battered wife, instead business is walking away, suitcase in hand and giving the abusive administration the middle finger.
Just wait until January 2015, when the delayed Employer Mandate goes into effect...
Unless they delay it again...
You miss the point. The administration knew this too. In fact, they planned on it. If they could get the majority of the work force working part time (so they wouldn't get insurance through their company), and boost the health coverage requirements so the cost of a policy went through the roof, no part time worker could afford health insurance. The solution? Get a subsidy from the government. Once more than half the people get subsidized health insurance, the democrats will be able to implement single-payer (socialized medicine). Voila!
Part time jobs and dropping out of the labor force are the two reasons that unemployment has come down. When zero people working gives you zero percent unemployment, then there’s a problem with your statistic.
America, the power elite is just fine with your being a serf....and if you’d wear one of those cute sombreros, they’d like you even more.
Make no mistake, Big Business want socialized health care too.
For their companies' bottom lines, probably yes. But no individual (including big business personnel) wants to be subjected to socialized medicine when they need procedures/treatment.
