My argument? I didn't argue in favor of voting for Cochran - I argued against voting for the Democrat. A person always has the option of withholding their vote if the circumstances warrant and as I stated in the post, that's what I would do if I lived in Mississippi. I don't know how many times I got lite up on this forum for withholding my vote from Romney. Romney was my epiphany - I realized that it was possible for the Republicans to nominate someone so bad that I couldn't hold my nose and vote for him. I was also willing to withhold my vote from my Congress women, RINO Lynn Jenkins until congressional redistricting made it a moot point.
I don't think that the advantage of incumbency in political races is at all a controversial statement. The benefit of sending a message to the GOPe for their reprehensible tactics needs to be weighed against the potential cost of having to unseat an incumbent Democrat senator in 2020. I don't want to have the voters in Mississippi cut off their nose to spite their face.
The best thing that could happen in Mississippi is for McDaniel's challenge to be successful. If a new election could be ordered due to proven voting irregularities in the initial primary and McDaniel is successful in the re-vote, the GOPe would get its black eye and the conservatives would get their candidate.
Wasn't McDaniel supposed to hold a press conference today? I haven't seen anything about it.
Yes, I should have said THE instead of YOUR. I really think and thought at the time of my comment that we were at least on the same page if not the same paragraph.
