Fat Cats Shore up Elizabeth Warren’s PAC
Boston Herald ^

Posted on 07/20/2014 3:56:30 PM PDT by nickcarraway

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s PAC has raised tens of thousands of dollars from wealthy Democrats, including a top President Obama donor and a close friend of Hillary Clinton’s — even as the Bay State lawmaker travels the country blasting big business and the super rich.

Among the most recent donors with the deepest pockets who gave to Warren’s PAC for a Level Playing Field, according to its latest federal filing:

• Barbarina Heyerdahl, a Democratic activist in Vermont who has given heavily to President Obama. She gave $5,000 to Warren’s PAC last month; Heyerdahl has donated more than $190,000 to Obama and other Democratic candidates and committees since 2006, federal elections data show;

• Susie Tompkins Buell, a major national Democratic donor and fundraiser who has been referred to as the best friend of potential presidential contender Hillary Clinton. She gave $5,000 to the PAC in May; and

• California billionaire John Tu, co-founder and president of Kingston Technology, and his wife. They each donated $5,000 — the maximum allowed — last month; Tu is listed as No. 110 on Forbes’ list of the richest people in America, with a net worth of $4 billion.

Buell, co-founder of the clothing line Esprit, declined a request to speak with the Herald on the record about her donation or whether she would support a potential president bid by Warren. Tu and Heyerdahl did not return calls seeking comment.

The Massachusetts senior senator has so far denied she will mount a White House run as she crisscrosses the country campaigning for Democratic U.S. Senate candidates.

Warren’s PAC has raised $620,365 since April and has $826,525 cash on hand, records show, and has given to the likes of New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and New Jersey Sen. Corey Booker.

Kerstin Adams, a retiree from Oregon, said she gave $5,000 to Warren’s PAC in April in support of a possible Warren presidential run. Adams, who said she’s never met Warren, donated to her Senate campaign several years ago because she was impressed with her stance on financial issues.

“Yes, I would support Elizabeth Warren for president,” Adams said. “I would certainly vote for her. I can’t think of anyone else I would vote for.”

Meanwhile, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, which bills itself as the “Elizabeth Warren Wing” of the Democratic Party, claims it raised more than $1 million since January 2013, although data on their latest quarterly filing wasn’t available on the Federal Election Commission website last night.

She’s a former professor of law at Harvard yet doesn’t know that we’re not a democracy?

Who’s behind Warren, the fake American Indian with no business background? How many fake presidents do the Liberals think America will fall for? How did a junior senator get a plum slot on the Banking Committee, deliver an address at the DNC, and land first-choice in the running for “permanent” head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau? How did yet another small time lawyer nobody suddenly rise to the chosen child for Liberals? Somebody in the RNC better find out the answers to those questions and come up with a plan to counterplay, and quick.

I think Warren's biggest electoral vulnerability is her own damning words, in which she publicly claims to have created the looney, juvenile, business destroying, socially disruptive, disease-laded, out of control, intellectually bankrupt, philosophically incoherent, America-hating, unsanitary, disgusting, left-wing extremist temper-tantrum movement Occupy Wall Street:

“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” she says. “I support what they do.”

Conservatives need to endlessly tie her to Occupy Wall Street, recapping the horrific images of its appalling behavior:

Elizabeth Warren seems more inevitable than Hillary as the Democrats’ 2016 presidential nominee.

Any far-left New England Democrat who is capable of winning a Senate race in Massachusetts should be favored to win the all-important Democratic presidential primary in Massachusetts’s neighboring state of New Hampshire. Especially if she’s already become a favorite of the Democrats’ feminist wing.

All of Elizabeth Warren’s donors and workers from her successful Senate campaign would cross the border to help her trudge through the snows of NH to win its primary. And who will Hillary have in her corner? Bill and Chelsea whom everyone is even more tired of than they were during Hillary’s losing presidential campaign in 2008?

The first major Democratic pundits who start supporting Elizabeth Warren will have superior access to her during the rest of her political career. They’ll get lucrative book deals to write authorized Elizabeth-Warren biographies, be invited to the best cocktail parties, be hired by liberal think-tanks, and maybe even become White House speech writers or other staff members. So what is everyone waiting for?

The Elizabeth Warren presidential bandwagon is already starting to leave the station.

I think we should all be crystal clear about this right from the beginning. These moneybags and other supporters do not give two hoots for Warren. They are just desperate for *anybody* to oppose Hillary.

Basically, there are smoldering hatreds in the Democrat party, factions that would gladly allow the other factions to burn to death in a fire.

Hillary is in one of them. Last time, they were willing to back an almost unknown Chicago senator against her. They they were able to win with him against her speaks volumes about their hatred of Hillary.

Truthfully, if they do force Warren into the nomination, she will likely get stomped, unless the Republican leadership forces through another RINO hoser.

Barbarina Heyerdahl, a Democratic activist in Vermont ...

Who in hell names their kind "Barbarina"? It sounds like a cross between Barbara and farina.

I don’t understand your comment.
The people who voted in Baraq and likely will vote in Lizzie know exactly what they are getting.

Entitlement Army to provide the votes.
Crony capitalists to provide the dough.

further when we put up such a turd - mccain - really, truly negatively impacted republican voter turnout.

if the rnc is dumb enough to do that again, after 2008 and 2012, then it only helps her.
