Let's explain how the labor force participation rate works now that it is not helping the drive-by headline... So predictable.

Seriously? This isn’t a satirical jab at the MSM?
And they’re continuing with this theme?
Seriously? OK...
Well, 11.5 million people are out of the workforce and they are still eating, texting, cellphoning, XBoxing, Driving, smoking, drinking beer and watching TV.

Maybe the rate is going up because the non-employed people have run out of money, benefits and relatives willing to keep them afloat.

They’re point is that it’s because more people are looking for a job now. They are actually correct in this, but why don’t they then report the full news of how many Americans are NOT employed nor looking for a job?

Gongloff would not see good news in a higher unemployment rate under a Republican administration. He wouldn’t even TRY to find good news in that scenario.
To: nhwingut
He is making the point about labor force participation and how, during a recovery, people start looking again and thus count in the total of the unemployment %. He is right about that, but, of course, the Dems and MSM never mentioned this a year or two ago when the unemployment number fell or stayed steady despite the horrific job market because people were dropping out. They want to have it both ways.

I wonder how they determine the number of people looking for work. My thought is they just guess.

"... the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday." I cannot beleve that anybody is taking numbers just announced by the feds seriously. Wait until the figures are revised next month.

“The reason the first number is encouraging is because, duh, jobs.”
That bit of journalistic stupidity was a turn off. I could not be bothered reading the rest of the inanity.
