This is how ice ages start – a buildup of snow which does not melt in the Summer, which leads to a positive feedback loop, as the growing ice sheet reflects more and more sunlight back into space.

Ah-HA!!! Just as my geology professor said it would happen!

Well, except that he told us it would happen in the 1980s… and after that failed to materialize, he became a global warming alarmist for the rest of his career…

But otherwise he was SPOT ON, and British Botanists conducting a Summer survey of Scotland’s tallest mountain, Ben Nevis prove it!

Do you remember that back in the "Earth is going to chill and we're all going to die" era that there was serious talk of spreading coal dust or other industrial byproducts on the advancing glaciers to reverse the process? Much like today, the global warming types all want us to have white or, at least, light colored roofs.

FWIW, last time I needed to replace a roof, we chose a dark, dark red just to thumb our noses at these idiots.

The last 2 summers have seen some snow at lower levels here in CO not melt. Some of the hiking paths we go on have snow stay over the paths all summer.

The Washington, DC metropolitan area has had a cooler than usual summer. Wonder what the winter will bring? On the other hand it has been really hot many places on earth.
