I had a bad Labor Day holiday, but my troubles don't matter much. President Obama's was decidedly worse, and unfortunately his matter a lot. The crucial thing, though, is that I know I had a bad couple of days. It is not clear to me that President Obama realizes that he did, and that should trouble all of us.
First, my tale of minor woes. I was in Washington for the Annual American Political Science Association meeting. Several thousand political science professors in the same hotel may sound like a lot of fun (or maybe it doesn't) but it usually is not as eventful as it was this year.

Good article. The problem is that Bambi’s bad weekends could be the death of us all.
Personally, I think he’s gone round the bend. He was never really all there to begin with, but the press held him up; but now he’s gotten worse, and even some of the press are beginning to distance themselves.
In other words, he’s crazy. But he’s also evil, because his goals are extending some bizarre anti-Western ideology and taking revenge for fancied slights (he’s a privileged person desperate to claim victimhood). But no matter how your look at him, it’s pretty clear that he lost contact with reality long, long ago.

The question is, does enough of the electorate know it? Those of us on the right, yes. The flukes, homosexuals, unions, and other free stuff folks, no. That leaves the middle to convince by 2016.

He’s had more impact on this country than any other president. He got gay marriage and socialized medicine, which seemed impossible before he was elected. He turned the GOP into rubble. Seems like total success for people who share his beliefs.
