RE :Exclusive: Angry with Washington, 1 in 4 Americans open to secession

I live in Maryland so ‘breaking away’ wouldn't help me in the least, not that its a serious idea anyway.

Things that are not happening regardless of wishful thinking:

Challenger to Bohner
States succession from union
Constitutional amendments getting ratified
IRS going away.
A shutdown forcing Obama to do anything.
Obama impeachment
The next POTUS justice dept prosecuting Obama

A more lasting solution would be a more equitable division of powers between the states and Fedzilla coupled with laws to make it easier for states to subdivide themselves and/or kick certain sections out of their state or Commonwealth.

For instance, Pennsylvania would be far better if we could make the Philadelphia and Scranton areas go to New Jersey.

Delaware is too small, so cut off the piece on New Castle County north of the canal and trade it for the eastern shore of Maryland. Get rid of DC completely. Make Maryland a New Jersey sized megalopolis state stretching from Wilmington to the Northern Virginia DC suburbs and give their panhandle (everything from Fredrick west to West Virginia.

We (Pennsylvania) will take that odd northern panhandle of West Virginia to compensate us for the loss of Philadelphia and Scranton. Virginia and West Virginia can figure out an equitable division of of the combined Maryland/West Virgina panhandles to compensate Virginia for the loss of the DC suburbs. Keep it simple like everything from Cumberland east goes to Virginia, everything west to West Virginia.

Baseball teams do it all the time with multi-team deals. States ought to be able to do it for, say, a four year period before every census.

The 53.3% who are opposed to secession either work for government or otherwise get their living (i.e., welfare) from government.

I’m very open to my state of Texas seceeding. I think the final line in the sand for me will be when the Supreme Court tries to impose homo-marriage across the country. I’ll just no longer have any remaining shred of interest in the preservation of the republic after that.

Time to rid ourselves of the organized crime rings that have dominated DC for too long. BO is the head snake followed by holder and the rest of this gang.

Being angry at Washington D.C. isn’t reason enough for secession. We’ve got plenty of recourse before you do that.

But some folks are lazy and see secession as some easy solution, and those movements ultimately fail because there is a real difference between real oppression and being just ticked off.

I’m open to voting them all out.

Everyone in the Senate longer than 3 terms ... OUT
Everyone in the House longer than 5 terms .... OUT

.... and that’s if they are doing their jobs ... OUT sooner if not.

We don’t need secession, we just need to do what Egypt did and get the Muslim Brotherhood out of our government and out of our country.

For starters
Kick the UN out of NYC.
Kick the FED out of DC, give DC statehood.

Relocate the FED compound to Northern Montana, Minnesota, somewhere that is cold and mostly uncomfortable to keep people from ‘not leaving’.

Trouble now when these clowns get voted out, they NEVER return to their state just hang around DC and peddle their influence.

Unions out of the PUBLIC sector.

Only donations Pols can receive are from their immediate or future constituents. PERIOD.

When seeking higher office, once the person has secured the nomination, must quit the seat he now occupies. PERIOD.
(should do that anyway, as a ‘trust in faith’ to his supporters that he actually thinks he has a ‘chance’ of winning, plus when campaigning 24/7 you can’t have your present constituents best interest in mind).
If they lose the election, must wait till next voting period to try and regain his old seat.
MAYBE if they tried WORKING for awhile.

REASONABLE term limits.

Money received as ‘Campaign Funds’ must be either spent or used in any other way than a ‘slush fund’ for the Pol, just this week either Reid or McConnell wanted their fellow Senators to ‘dip into their campaign funds to HELP reelect or bring new same party members in’.

People mentioned Texas and seceding...if they secede on their own, they can look for Mexico to swallow it up ...apparently there are enough people in this country now to make that a ‘bloodless coup’ that will quickly turn into a bloody firefight.
