To: Leaning Right

This is one of those meaningless poll questions, like “Do you think the country is headed in the right direction?”

It lumps together people who want out for exactly opposite reasons.

Yeah, but is that not legitimate in a way? It measures overall support for some form of dissolution, which is a valid thing to measure. Unless the people wishing to secede for opposite reasons are in the same state or other subdivision that would secede, thus rendering it pointless, but I think for the most part that’s not the case.

Why not a 'liberal' United States and a 'conservative' United States? Part of the agreement would be that the two new governments would help 'move' those citizens caught in the wrong States at the time of separation.
