The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar, the country which owns Al Jazeera America, the network which was established following your sale of CurrentTV to Al Jazeera for $500 million in 2013.
As cited below, in fact, you and your business partner, Mr. Joel Hyatt, engaged in two major transactions with Qatar: first the purchase of Newsworld International in 2004, from which you launched CurrentTV; secondly, the selling back of the station to Qatar to broadcast Al Jazeera America, for the price of $500 million.

Yes, but I heard they weren’t paying.
The article said that Al Gore owned 20% of the company, which means he would get $100 million out of the $500 million sale. So the title overstates things.
It does not say how much he paid in to buy it, or how much he made or lost while running it.
Yes it looks fishy, and yes Qatar is in up to their eyeballs in supporting, even directing, murderous jihadis and the Muslim Brothers. No need to over-inflate the numbers to make the point.
Bottom Line: Many democrat politicians will sell out their country for much lower prices.
If the government had burdened us with the Cap N’ Trade Taxes, the “cure” for global warming would probably be a much worse threat to the West than anything that ISIS could throw at us.

Al Gore is a traitor in almost every way. He is by far a worse threat to America than any foreign dictator!

There never was a market for them here... Maybe the sale was nothing but a legal 'donation' to Al Gore. Gore's 'no drill' mantra kept the price of oil up for a loooooong time... guess they owed him.
