I had a tour of my old high school this past weekend, 32 years after graduation. The lead tourguide was a young lady who was a Senior this year.

On no fewer than three occasions, she gave a sarcastic *thanks, Michelle Obama!” to when we got to the cafeteria, not only the now useless vending machines that carry only Aquafina water or Diet Sodas (horrible for you); and Sun Chips (baked not fried).

Also; a fond reminiscence of the fried chicken served once every two weeks, now replaced by whole grain breaded chicken nuggets.

17-year-old: “You know: *real* chicken, actual whole pieces of meat, instead of chopped and diced mush chicken, mostly breading - *thanks* Michelle Obama!”

Her older siblings may have voted Obama 6 years ago, but there is *no* chance that this girl or any of her half-dozen friends giving the tour to we alumni are going to vote D in two years when she gets her first chance to vote in a Presidential Election.

That single act of Arrogant Hubris, school lunches, may have cost the D’s an entire generation of upcoming voters.

I might add....that this public school district borders the city line and the degenerate city school district, and was decidedly lower-middle class when I was there, and has done mothing but gone downhill since....in other words, this student does not come from anything resembling a wealthy background, and her disdain for overbearing government interference and overregulation has been indelibly cemented at age 17.

It all moves in waves, folks, and the tide has turned.

Exactly. I keep trying to explain to people that government is generational. Currently in power are the former kids of the '60s and early '70s, and that's why the concerns of that era -- race, the environment, anti-war activism, etc. -- have come back to haunt us. It explains why the liberals are going more and more nuts trying to push through their "agenda." Coming up soon into power are the kids of the Reagan era, and the declining libs know damn well that's a whole different mindset.

I may have missed it but is “this student” black?
