Two self-proclaimed descendants of the American pancake icon are taking their heritage to court with a lawsuit seeking more than $2 billion from the Quaker Oats company, Kentuckys Courier Journal reported.
In a suit filed by the great grandsons of Anna Short Harrington, who went on to become "Aunt Jemima" in 1933, they claim they're owed a slice of the pancake company's revenue according to a long-forgotten agreement stretching back to its late-1800 creation.

I don’t think they have a leg to stand on.
Any one can claim they’re a long lost relative and they always appear when there’s money.
I expect this lawsuit to get tossed.

Considering she’s a fictitious character, I’m surprised no one ever heard of her or this alleged contract...

There is a statute of limitations.
Any one can file a lawsuit.
It dies even before it gets heard on the merits.

This is what civil courts are for. If there was an agreement, it should be honored. If it’s BS, it gets tossed.
It would not be the first time a black person got screwed in a contract from back then.
