Republican Governor Paul LePage has pulled ahead of Democratic Congressman Mike Michaud by one point in Maine's gubernatorial race.
LePage picks up 41% of the vote to Michaud's 40% in a new Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Maine Voters. Independent Eliot Cutler is in a distant third with 16% of the vote. One percent (1%) prefer another candidate in the race, while three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 930 Likely Voters in Maine was conducted on October 7-9, 2014 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Rasmussen poll is bogus......George Soros owns them!!! LePage will win easily!!! Hint......vote to politically Destroy every Democrat candidate running in the coming mid-term elections on Tuesday, November 4, 2014!!!
Is Cutler another phony “independent”?
To reduce fraudulant voting seniors should be able to vote on Monday in a 6 hour window. Tuesday should be a national holiday for voting(every 4 years). No early voting. Winners should be decided on that date leaving no room for contested results the libs ail exploit.
I don’t think so, but four years ago, Libby Mitchell, the Rat nominee for governor,in essence dropped out of the race about a week before the election and told her supporters to vote for Cutler. People who absentee balloted for her went to the courthouse, had their absentee ballots voided and voted for Cutler.
The reason I don’t think Cutler candidacy is a sham is that four years ago he was the victim of a smear campaign by the Rats.
Also, it looks like we may pick up the 2nd district Congressional seat. The Republican candidate is running as a conservative.
Well said!
I hope LePage can pull it out. As a Mainer how do you think the race will end up? And Eliot Cutler does seem like a very decent man.
It seems the Dem strategy going forward is to stick a red herring in every election.
They will never win properly but they will certainly try to make the GOP lose.
Clinton’s election win was a revelation to the left. Suddenly they could rig the ballot box in full view of the world.
It’s actually Cutler that’s sabotaging the dems in this case. As one response noted on here, in the final days in 2010 the dems relentlessly smeared him.
I live in Maine.
A poll done here in Maine a few days ago had Paul LePage ahead by nearly 6 points.
On a local radio show called “Maine in the Morning” the other day, they had a pollster as a guest on the show. He went over polling data very carefully, and he said that the election was breaking Paul LePage’s way and he gave many examples of different groups of voters and their opinions and attitudes towards the candidates, and it looks good for our TEA Party governor.
The Rasmussen poll.....after the 2012 election, I no longer trust them.....they were WAY off that year.
Cutler was an aide, I believe, to the late Sen. Edmund Muskie years ago, so I suspect he is a democrat in disguise.
From whom is the independent most likely to pull votes?
The Rasmussen poll since the sale to George Soros is bogus in every way. You will see an attempt, about three days before the election to predict the race as it is....with LaPage easily beating his opponent. If it is anything Democrat...do not trust it.....Obama lies & the entire Democrat Party and their low life supporters lie all the time!!!
I wasn’t aware Soros purchased Rasmussen. Good God.
“People who absentee balloted for her went to the courthouse, had their absentee ballots voided and voted for Cutler.”
Not true. Some attmepted to have court and/or town clerks allow them to vote again. None succeeeded.
