You missed may sarcasm......... I don’t believe people refrain from drugs because they are illegal and most people aren’t going to turn to this if legal.
Quite suddenly, there has been a lot of rumbling about the evils of marijuana, now that it is beginning to be legalized at the state level. Suddenly articles are sprouting up all over the place in the media about how it’s bad for one’s health.
The timing is beyond suspicious. It reeks of a manipulation attempt.
There’s a hell of a lot of people in this country who make a fine living fighting the “war on drugs” on behalf of the American taxpayer.
For law enforcement, seizing the assets of pot growers is lucrative, and flying around in helicopters all day looking for a pot plant is very expensive, albeit fun for the cops involved. Then there’s the swat raids, giving cops the chance to play badass military. Just a hunch, but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that some federal agency somehow has a hand in this flurry of recent articles.
I also doubt that anyone is arguing that legal or not pot use should be encouraged amongst teenagers and that habitual recreational use is totally harmless.
Intrastate mj regulation is now in the hands of the states, as it should be per the Tenth Amendment.
Since well before any state had legalized pot, teens have reported that they could get it more easily than beer or cigarettes ... which is to be expected since legal sellers card and illegal sellers don't.
What about apartment buildings and condos, where the smoke will permeate the the other apartments?
It lowers the IQ and kills ambition in other words it make you stupid and lazy, a perfect Democrat demographic.
That is such a bogus argument because for the most part, there is no real drug war, there is drug court.
Another bogus argument. I have only known property seizures to take place when the accused were dealing. In our town, the dealers were living in a house owned by the parents, across the street from the grade school.
Your second sentence contradicts your first - the owners were not the dealers.
