What a flustercluck. Food that kids don’t want, at prices we we can’t afford. All in the name of providing a solution to a problem (childhood obesity) likely not caused by school lunch programs in the first place.

Maybe Obama can order a C-130 to drop some Humanitarian Daily Rations for these kids. I heard the barley stew one isn’t half bad...

Going to date myself here, but when my dad as a supply officer for MCB-9 out in Port Hueneme CA we would often get the C-rations that had crashed off a pallet or truck when loading to go to VN.
We were a large family (6 kids) and with money so tight they were a welcome change to the menu of the family. And they had candy, hot chocolate, and some dessert with each meal.
It was a great treat, and all was very Hi calorie meaning they tasted wonderful.
Last year as a joke I got some C or K rations as a Christmas gift and thought that was just great.
Fond memories for sure.
