Not sure what I'm missing here. The entire world knew that Saddam had chemical weapons. He used them on the Kurds - the proof exists. The question was if he had nukes or processing yellow cake to make nukes. That was supposedly why we invaded Iraq. Everyone from Bush to Hillary to most Western leaders believed he was building nukes. I find it hard to believe that ALL the intel agencies around the world were wrong. Well, guess what Syria's Assad had been using.

Remember the satellite photos of convoys heading to Syria just weeks before the war started that most intel agencies figured to be WMD's.

What's the big surprise here about chemical weapons? Not surprised some of our Troops were exposed to them. In fact, I remember that our troops were trained with their gas masks/chem suits for such attacks. I don't see a coverup.

In hind sight, it probably would have been best to leave the sh*tbag Saddam in power to keep the jihadists from growing. I now think we could have just controlled him with targeted bombings like we did with Kaddafi in Libya. Kaddafi learned his lesson after Reagan targeted his home and even gave up his nuke ambitions. Barrack interfered in a civil war. Now look what we have there.

As for Aftganiscrap, they will never join civilization. Their tribal nature is too ingrained. I believe that's why ISIS has yet to bring them in to the fold. The tribes all want their little fiefdoms. Also, from what I've read, the Taliban is re-constituting, mostly along the border with Pakistan - our next problem unless India can keep them under control with the threat of annihilation, providing the jihad types don't take control of Pakistan.

The only good thing to come our of the so-called, "Arab Spring" was when Egypt kicked out their Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer president with a military coup. Ever here much about jihad problems in Egypt? Very little.

Don't even start me on Saudia Arabia. Pfft.

“Not sure what I’m missing here.”

I don’t blame you. I can relate. Closest I can figure is this whole thing comes down to the leaders of all the major countries having their hands in the cookie jar along with many $$$$ international corps.

Each has info that could hurt the other severely on the homefront about their involvement so a state of MAD doctrine exists.

the press, always lapdogs for the libs are owned by these megacorps, thus to report accurately would condemn their companies and country of origin. CNN slipped a bit as did I think CBS admitting their censorship for access to Saddam a few years back but overall, the lid id tight.

So over time they have to write, rewrite and rewrite the facts as the situation evolves. At this point the entire reality has been fabricated, everyone has conflicting sourced and doced ‘facts’ and the entire circus moves foreward! into another lie.

We invaded Iraq for many reasons- primarily to enforce the 1991 cease fire which had been neglected. To recover or get an accounting for hundreds of captured prisoners Iraq had failed to return. To eliminate the chemical weapons program Zarqawi and Krekar and Baghdaddi was developing in northern Iraq with funding from the regime [and passage to and from Iran] and which was involved in the effort to poison mass transit in Europe; and which also was involved directly with the Milan cell which most certainly did know about the 9/11 attacks before the fact as the Italians recorded their chatter and boasting.
The USS Cole bombing and the earlier failed effort to bomb the USS The Sullivans was a joint Salafist-Shiite effort; in both cases the ships were on the way to enforce sanctions on Iraq, and Iran’s been smarting from sanctions too.
We also went into Iraq to eliminate the terrorist cells operating in Baghdad itself that the press kept insisting wasn’t al Qaeda because Zarqawi had not yet formally swore an oath to bin Laden and waited for that formality until after Saddam died. ISIS like this terrorist cell decapitated a nun there before our invasion, not to mention at the time Iraq was providing a house and a paycheck to one of the guys who bombed the world trade center in 1993, and ANO leader Abu Nidal was residing there as well, and terrorists were being trained in Iraq’s al Tuwaitha facility on an old jet there, and Iraq did support a bombing of a bar in the Philippines to take out a US special forces soldier by supporting the terrorist group that was also beheading people down there. Not to mention Iraq was caught in a plot to bomb our radio station in the Czech RFepublican. Wolfowitz said it most succinctly way back then - it was the growing nexus of WMD, Iraq and terrorism that necessitated war.
