For more than a decade, Berlin has been governed by an openly homosexual mayor. But is the city, renowned for its tolerance, ready for a leader from a Palestinian background? It may have to be. [
]
Berlin SPD parliamentary leader Raed Saleh only needs to open his mouth to stand out from the crowd. Saleh came to Berlin at the age of five with his Palestinian parents, and although his German is beyond reproach, he speaks the language with a distinct Arabic twang.
Berlin is a city of diversity; a city of 100 different accents, Saleh told DW. People will just have to get used to mine.
With that, Saleh has a slogan with the forthright charm to rival Wowereits Im gay, and thats okay from 2001.

Evidently his politics don’t matter.
Anyone know what his politics are? Is he rabidly anti-Israel?
Thump, thump, thump..., is this thing on?

The whole idea of Diversity was that we should welcome competent people from all walks of life and not automatically shun a good person because he was of the wrong color or something.
Now Diversity means we are forced to accept any controversial pick, competent or not, the further away from Straight White Conservative Male the better.

The word “diversity” is related to “diverge”, which implies a breaking apart rather than uniting.
