I saw gas for $2.699/gal today. It makes Obama sad that we aren’t sending more money to Muslim countries who hate us.

It’ll hurt the US also. Oil/gas is about the only positive in the economy. If oil drops to a certain level, drilling here in the Bakken will cease, I’m afraid.

Obama and the left have fought drilling and fracking every step of the way. It’s the only are that is helping our economy right now. They’re too stupid to see that.

I’m sure that Saudi Arabia has substantial financial asset holdings that it can rely upon in the short time to cover any “current accounts” deficits. Long term, low oil prices could even be a problem even for the Saudis.

Previously, OPEC members would agree to cut oil production if falling prices posed a threat. That may now have changed because of the shale oil boom in the US, which has dramatically increased supply. Oh it be rich the irony!

I'm surprised to see Bahrain on the list. They pumped out most of their oil years ago and became a financial center for that part of the world. But I think they also used their earning to invest heavily into oil and gas refining and retailing.
I like the Bahrainis-- the friendliest of the Arab countries, by far.

The economic slowdown is even being felt in China. Less economic activity means less demand for energy.

Just to be sure - this is a chart of how much these governments SPEND verses their INCOME from oil.
All are mostly socialist countries.

There seems to be a math error. The headline says six but the article only lists three of which Saudi Arabia is one.
To compare the Saudi economy with the Venezuelan economy is not valid.
