BAMAKO (Reuters) - Mali said on Thursday it had detected its first confirmed case of Ebola, making it the sixth West African country to be touched by the worst outbreak on record of the deadly hemorrhagic fever.
Health Minister Ousmane Kone told state television that the patient in the western region of Kayes was a two-year-old girl who had recently arrived from neighboring Guinea, where the outbreak began.

Hopefully the nutcases won’t get access to a suicide Ebola bomber to spray our troops over there. Also bad is if they simply attack and kill people in bordering nations to disrupt disease control

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
