Putin personifies Russia. Winston Churchill nailed it when he made the following quote:

‘From what I have seen of our Russian friends and Allies during the war, I am convinced that there is nothing they admire so much as strength, and there is nothing for which they have less respect than for weakness, especially military weakness’.

Putin is no Christian. His Christianity is political and sprouts every election. If he was Christian, he wouldn't fondly look back at 70 years of Communist-Atheist rule as a good thing. Israel is a major threat to Russian Gas Hegemony (look up Leviathan and Tamar gas finds in Israel).

Indeed, their Koran teaches them its oK to sign temporary peace treaties so long as they use the opportunity to re-arm and prepare to destroy their “peace partners”
