It didn't explode on the launchpad, it exploded in the air and fell back on to the launchpad. Why is this story buried?

I had heard an analyst from the WSJ say that there is a one in three chance of a new launcher failing. Considering that this includes the early launches of the Vanguard, Atlas and Titan missiles, when we were just learning how to build these, the odds might be a little better today. However, we are still dealing with what is ideally a controlled explosion.

Do you understand we have several launch failures every year?

And we are not the only ones that have failures.

This is an accomplishment that the Muslims can actually be proud of for the first time in their lives!

I watched it live.
When the throttle of the engines were taken to 108%, something broke, the engines faultered, and a fire, not redirected engine exhaust flared around the base of the rocket, which flared more, as the rocket cmae straight back down to the pad, and upon impact, all the fuel exploded.

If you saw the live feed, next to one of the restraining mechanisms, which looked to be a swing away design, there were eight fluid lines on the outside of the rocket skin.

This is the third time this first stage was used. With the amount of vibration, shock, temperature changes in seconds of time, flowing pressure changes through those lines in hunfredths of seconds, and lastly, the actual weather changes on all of these thigs, as the rocket, ready to go, sits on the pad, for an extended launch cancellation time.

I speak from 20 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.

Sumbunny done did dah dawg, agin’!

This story is buried, because it is was NOT NASA, but Orbital Science Corporation, a private company. And because it was NOT NASA, it was NOT ‘Uncle Bammy’s gov’mint’.
