Why is everyone surprised about MA?
Where do you think Romney came from? Or Scott brown. Or Bill Weld?
MA tends to elect Pink republicans to off set the blue State House.
I don’t suggest for a second that these guys are conservatives. But a republican in the corner office is fairly common.
There have been 72 Governors of MA (including Charlie Baker, elected the other day.)
31 of them have been republican.
And of 7 of the last 10 have been republican.
Our state is a liberal crazy zone. Our Govs have been left leaning Republicans (tend to be social liberal and fiscal moderates). The Republican Party, in the State, could hold a meeting in a large bus. But we are pretty consistent when it comes to electing R Govs.
