We may not be able to meaningfully challenge the speakership, but we can undermine the capitulation, at least in the house.
The conservative caucus increased in the House this cycle due to retirements and the like. For every moderate like Lee Zeldin of New York, there's a Gary Palmer of Alabama incoming as well, and then some.
I think only two Republicans who have moved on this cycle have been replaced by Republicans who are ideologically to the left of them.
-Bentivolio was replaced by Trott who is a more CoC friendly. - The guy from Washington looks like he's getting replaced by Newhouse in a disappointing victory over excellent Tea Party candidate Clint Didier (DemoCraps put him over the top)
There is no room for mistakes in the House. Conservatives have to vote with each other against the Obama agenda whoever is forwarding it.
Bring it on!
Toxic stuff, that mold....
The NYT is having trouble digesting their LOSS!
And the NYT is happy to fan the flames.
The only way the Democrats make a come back is to trick the GOP into eating it’s own
The GOPe have no idea what the Tea Party is about.
Let’s hope they don’t figure it out any time soon.
Hell the Tea Party is not the enemy. They cleaned out much of the trash RINOs that were masquerading as Republicans and held their feet to the fire to be accountable. The more accurate headline would be “GOP RINOs (Demcrats in sheep’s clothing) are gearing up for war against the Tea Party.”
Dump Boner!!
Send old turkey-neck out to pasture.
Yeah.
We know the GOPe will try to take down tea partiers but that’s no secret. The Slimes is just trying to stir the pot and should be brushed aside.
The desperate NY Times is already setting up the script for the mainstream media to follow. Next week we will see Jon Stewart, George Stephenopoulis etc. going on and on about bitter infighting within the GOP. Problem is their ratings will continue going down and the NY Times stock price will continue it’s decline.
NYT’s only recourse now is to try to create division within Republican party. I’m taking anything they report with a grain of salt. Their party lost big you know.
The real untold story is the positive impact the Tea Party has had on the Republican Party.
Overspending and the unsustainable growth of government are the central issues in nearly all Republican primary races. The GOPe knows that they will face a primary challenge if Conservatives view them as part of the problem.
The Tea Party is alive, well, and effective.
yep- my thought exactly....
McConnell, Cochran, Boehner and crew are more than happy to assist them.
Only the President would be “shutting down government”
Will McConnell and Bonehead support the FCC/FEC plan to shut down unpaid political speech on the internet?
“The only way the Democrats make a come back is to trick the GOP into eating its own”
Historically the GOP has proved that to be one or their enduring qualities.....
...and reading here almost daily for 16 years reminds me it still is.
I for one, am pleased by the election results.
