In 2004, when Andrea Constand filed a lawsuit against Bill Cosby for sexual assault, her lawyers asked me to testify. Cosby had drugged and raped me, too, I told them. The lawyers said I could testify anonymously as a Jane Doe, but I ardently rejected that idea. My name is not Jane Doe. My name is Barbara Bowman, and I wanted to tell my story in court. In the end, I didnt have the opportunity to do that, because Cosby settled the suit for an undisclosed amount of money.
Over the years, Ive struggled to get people to take my story seriously. So last month, when reporter Lycia Naff contacted me for an interview for the Daily Mail, I gave her a detailed account. I told her how Cosby won my trust as a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, brainwashed me into viewing him as a father figure, and then assaulted me multiple times.
In one case, I blacked out after having dinner and one glass of wine at his New York City brownstone, where he had offered to mentor me and discuss the entertainment industry. When I came to, I was in my panties and a mans t-shirt, and Cosby was looming over me. Im certain that he drugged and raped me. The final incident was in Atlantic City, where we had traveled for industry event.
I was staying in a separate bedroom of Cosbys hotel suite, but he pinned me down in his own bed while I screamed for help. Ill never forget the clinking of his belt buckle as he struggled to pull his pants off. I furiously tried to wrestle from his grasp until he eventually gave up, angrily called me a baby and sent me home to Denver.

Juanita Broaddrick had no comment.
So she traveled alone with a man. What could possibly go wrong?
Because she kept going back to him?
Something seems so off about this story.
Hollywood is filled with this kind of thing. But somehow I wonder if she didn’t try to use herself to further herself.
If he raped you once, why are you continuing to be in a bedroom with him as you travel.
Interesting that he was into a White Chick.
My Mom would say - they aren't saying the "Our Father" together, thats for sure.
MOre on the history of the story

My thought as well. Yet I wish this woman success in her efforts.
(The above are my concerns — the system, due process — but I believe the reason this woman was not believed had nothing to do with anyone’s respect for due process. Rather, this woman was not believed because people did not want to believe that Cosby, a black celebrity with a wholesome image, would assault anyone, or even sleep with anyone besides his wife, especially not a white woman or girl.)
“If he raped you once, why are you continuing to be in a bedroom with him as you travel.”
My thoughts as well. It makes her story very difficult to swallow.
I don't know where she read it but she told me this in the early 80s.
Now I can see why they gave Bill Clinton such a pass.
Because we never heard of this story for 30 years? Just guessing.
And on the page right next to the article? A Viagra ad. Stay classy, Washington Post.
P.S. No post #1 on the page?
“Because she kept going back to him?”
Maybe she considered herself a reparation.
So she settled for money, which includes non disclosures I would imagine, and now she is talking about it? I am not saying what he did was right, I am saying this woman has issues.
Yes, something went wrong with the OP, and incidentally I couldn’t decide whether to post FIrst! or Second! in that post. It’s a First World Problem, to be sure.
Indeed you can’t rape the willing.
I’m not defending Cosby but she kind of lost me at “multiple times”.
Nine years ago, eleven women were allegedly coming forward as witnesses in the sexual assault suit brought by Andrea Constand. All ten of the women had stories about drugging and sexual assault. I can get some names if you want them. Cosby settled that lawsuit before it went to trial.
In 2000, Cosby was accused of sexual assault by a Cosby show cast member, Lachele Covington.
It's Gawker, so cover your computer with a condom, but this story says thirteen women have accused him, from thre 1970s to the 2000s.
Comedian Hannibal Buress jokes about it in his act.

According to Green, Cosby left two $100 bills on her coffee table afterwards. Cosbys lawyer issues a statement: Miss Greens allegations are absolutely false. Mr. Cosby does not know the name Tamara Green or Tamara Lucier [her maiden name], and the incident she describes did not happen. The following month, People magazine publishes Bowman's account of several assaults: "It was in a hotel in Reno, claims Bowman, that Cosby assaulted her one night in 1986. 'He took my hand and his hand over it, and he masturbated with his hand over my hand,' says Bowman, who, although terrified, kept quiet about the incident and continued as Cosby's protégé because, she says, 'Who's gonna believe this? He was a powerful man. He was like the president.' Before long she was alone with Cosby again in his Manhattan townhouse; she was given a glass of red wine, and "the next thing I know, I'm sick and I'm nauseous and I'm delusional and I'm limp and ... I can't think straight.... And I just came to, and I'm wearing a [men's] T-shirt that wasn't mine, and he was in a white robe.'"
