She should make this a teachable moment that illustrates several important points.

Guilt or innocence should be based on the facts and law and not rumor and outright lies.

She should explain how juries and grand juries work and this is an example of how the system worked to keep an innocent man out of jail despite the demands of a mob and interference by the President.

That you should obey a police officer even if you think the officer is wrong and never, ever, threaten an officer with physical harm. He or she has a gun and knows how to use it.

That a lie travels around the world before the truth crosses the street.

That you can't always believe what you hear on TV news and read in the paper. Shoot, make that most of what you hear.
