Sir Charles Barkley: The Last American Who Can Speak His Mind on Obama and Ferguson Without Blowback
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | December 1, 2014 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: There's only one man in America who can say anything about race and not get any blowback. There is only one man who can opine in a way contrary to the civil rights coalition version of events and not get any blowback. I'm not talking about Sharpton or Jackson. They get blowback from opponents and so forth. I'm not talking about them.

There's one person not involved in the civil rights movement, not involved in the race base, there's only one man in America who can react to this and say whatever he wants to say publicly, not on his Facebook page, but in the media and get absolutely no blowback. Who do you think I'm talking about? No, not Colin Powell. He'd get blowback from us here. Not Bill Clinton. Clinton would get blowback. I'm talking about Charles Barkley.

Charles Barkley can say anything he wants anywhere, and the reaction is, we had better pay attention. And Charles Barkley has weighed in on Ferguson. Charles Barkley was on the radio recently, and he called out the media for jumping to conclusions in the Gentle Giant shooting because he said the media love race stories. When he was asked why black America doesn't trust the grand jury ruling, Charles Barkley said, "The true story came out from the grand jury testimony."

He added that he was made aware of "key forensic evidence, and several black witnesses that supported Officer Darren Wilson’s story," for the first time Monday night. Charles Barkley only learned the truth -- this is last Monday night. He said, "I can’t believe anything I hear on television anymore. And, that’s why I don’t like talking about race issues with the media anymore, because they (the media) love this stuff, and lead people to jump to conclusions. The media shouldn’t do that. They never do that when black people kill each other."

Now, there is one network, by the way -- and they're all guilty of it -- but there is one network that is winning all competition hands down in fanning the flames of racial discord and that is CNN. CNN is covering up all of the violence that is taking place in terms of protest and trying to call it all peaceful. They are doing everything they can to cover up the looting, the property destruction. They're doing everything they can to misreport and mischaracterize this.

What Barkley is talking about here is, up until Monday night the only source he had for news on this was the media. And of course he'd been led to believe that this was a white cop that shot a black kid simply because the cop was white and the kid was black and the cop didn't like black kids and had an opportunity to pull the trigger. Barkley said (paraphrasing), "When I got the grand jury evidence, when I heard it Monday night, when I looked into it, I found out how I'd be lied to all these weeks by the media, and it made me mad, and I'm gonna stop listening to the media."

But he wasn't finished. Charles Barkley, the only man in America who cares whatever he wants about things like this and not get any blowback, praised the police, saying, quote, "[W]e have to be really careful with the cops, because if it wasn’t for the cops we would be living in the Wild, Wild West in our neighborhoods. We can’t pick out certain incidentals that don’t go our way and act like the cops are all bad.... Do you know how bad some of these neighborhoods would be if it wasn't for the cops?"

Barkley also had thoughts on all the rioters and the people looting and destroying property and businesses. He said, "They aren't real black people. They are all scumbags." Charles Barkley said of the looters and the rioters and the people destroying businesses and property in Ferguson, Missouri, "They aren't real black people. They are all scumbags." Well, I got this from Media Research Center, and they transcribed it from an interview that Barkley gave. It's not a typo.

Before the interview was over, Barkley also criticized Barack Hussein O for his lack of action on ISIS. Barkley said, "Obama needs to put some real bodies over there and start shooting those damn guys from ISIS." I like "those damn guys from ISIS." He said, "Obama needs to put some real bodies over there and start shooting those damn guys from ISIS. We can’t wait any longer. Those guys are getting out of hand. We can’t just bomb them from a distance. They have to put boots on the ground. They have to go over there and shoot them. We need to put some bodies on the ground and shoot them dead."

And Charles Barkley still was not through. He then said that he would vote for Governor Chris Christie for president in 2016. I am not aware of any blowback on Charles Barkley from anybody. Charles Barkley could probably, to show solidarity with Ray Rice, could probably join the Ravens during their pregame and drag one of those blow up dolls by the ankle out of the locker room, and there would be no blowback. (interruption) No, no, I'm just jumping off, you know, the players and the Rams coming out with their hands up.

I'm serious. Charles Barkley can criticize the media. He can criticize the civil rights groups, the civil rights coalition, he can say whatever he wants, and there is no blowback. I think he's the only guy in America who can do it. (interruption) Black card get torn up on this one, you think? Well, except the story I told you is five days old. It happened last week, see. And you're just now hearing about. That may be part of it.

But nevertheless, you cannot dispute that Charles Barkley is the only guy in America that can say -- (interruption) What's the most egregious? What's the most egregious thing he -- (interruption) Snerdley claims that he's gonna get in trouble for calling the looters scumbags. Of all the things that Charles Barkley said, calling the looters scumbags, he's gonna pay a price for that somehow. Well, we'll see.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: (interruption) Of course I would. The only person who could say that's Charles Barkley. But I can't say it. I just had an idea here for they new... I just saw a headline. Obama's looking for new secretary of defense, and I got a name -- a name came right to mind -- and I asked the constantly fearful staff, "Do you think I should mention it?" Snerdley said, "Hell, yes! It's a great idea. Go for it." H.R. said, "You better not." The only person I think that could make the suggestion would be Charles Barkley.

"...they (the media) love this stuff, and lead people to jump to conclusions. The media shouldn’t do that. They never do that when black people kill each other."

That's because they're progressives, Clarles, to whom black lives only matter if taken by whites.

IIRC he also supported the Zimmerman verdict, once again because he looked at the evidence instead of just believing media lies.

A conservative is usually a liberal who has been mugged.

Charles here was finally mugged HARD by the mainstream media. He was able to objectively look at what the media said, what the grand jury got for evidence, and compared media coverage of this particular event against all the other black-on-black killing then came to the proper conclusion:

The media is playing race for politics and news headlines and nothing more or less.

....And in a special way, during March Madness, I like his take on college basketball.

Barkley was a Republican at one time who wanted to run for governor of Alabama - his home state. He switched gears at some point during the Bush years. He also was in the tank for the Bamster. Ironically falling for the same media lies he is questioning now. I welcome him back if his eyes are now open. Even if he’s not 100% ideologically with us, if he is an individual willing to use critical thinking to make up his own mind - that’s someone should encourage to speak out.

Is voting for Christie supposed to be good?

Voting for Christie destroys any credibility Barkley might have earned from his Ferguson insights.

In fact, it sets him back even farther than he was. Rush didn’t catch this.

I’m not sure what the Rams did. Fox and Friends showed a picture of them holding up their arms, but I had the sound down so I did not hear why

I have no plan to vote for Christie if he runs in the primaries, but isn't it Barkley's business who he wants to vote for?

Charles Barkley needs to wise up regarding Fatso Christie, but he has Ferguson correct.
