Publishing giant Pearson Inc. is set to rake in billions of dollars in profits related to the implementation of the Common Core standards, but the corporation is now dealing with legal problems exposing some of its suspicious methods that have led to its status as the King of Common Core. snip As Breitbart News reported in December of 2013, the Pearson Foundation agreed to a $7.7 million settlement with the state of New York after accusations by the states attorney general that the foundation helped develop Common Core-aligned courses for Pearson, Inc., its corporate parent.

Somebody ping Jeb Bush. Surely he will want to come this this clown’s defense.
Get your children out of the public schools (government indoctrination centers) - NOW!
Hallelujah! You’re talking my language.
On April 26, 1983, President Ronald Reagan stood before the press and television cameras in the State Dining Room at the White House and held up a report titled A Nation at Risk. Eighteen months in the making and written by the blue-ribbon members of the National Commission on Excellence in Education at the behest of Secretary of Education Terrel Bell, the report examined the quality of education in the United Statesand the findings were anything but stellar.
Our nation is at risk, the report boldly declared in its first sentence.
If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war, the report said. As it stands, we have allowed this to happen to ourselves.
For ten years Ive taught in an urban, low-income public high school. I used to love my job; however, NCLB, Common Core, RTtT, and Ohios new teacher evaluation system have pretty much killed my love for teaching. Please note: Ive no problem with accountability! The testing and evaluations put in place are costing billions, making cronies billions (PARCC and Pearson specifically), and ultimately fix nothing.
CC’s end of course exams are going to crash out of the gate. Much like the healthcare website, it is specifically designed to do just this. Then PARCC and Pearson will get more tax dollars to “fix” the problem.
My district doesn’t use common core curriculum but they do use loads of other Pearson software. I often wonder who gets all the kickbacks from that.
